This Privacy Policy explains how RYO Agency ("RYO," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit ryo.agency, book a call with us, or work with us as a client. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
RYO Agency is an email marketing agency for e-commerce brands based in the United States. We plan email strategy, build list growth assets such as pop-ups, forms, and landing pages, design emails, build automated lifecycle flows, run campaign calendars, work on deliverability, and report on results. Our clients are e-commerce brands. We work inside each client's own email platform, and the client keeps ownership of that account, its subscriber list, and the flows we build in it.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you book a call, submit a form, or email us, we collect the details you provide. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, brand or company name, store URL, and anything else you choose to tell us about your business.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our providers may automatically collect technical and usage information, including:
- IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, and referring website
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- Cookie and similar identifiers, as described below
Information from advertising platforms
We run campaigns on third-party advertising platforms. Those platforms may share aggregated or pseudonymous data with us about how their users interacted with our ads, so we can measure and improve campaign performance.
Information about our clients' email subscribers
When we run email marketing for a client, we work inside that client's email platform and process personal information belonging to the client's subscribers and customers. This can include name, email address, phone number where the client collects it, purchase and order history, browsing and cart activity captured by the client's store, and engagement data such as opens, clicks, and unsubscribes. That data belongs to the client. In this context we act as a service provider to the client, and we process the data under the client's instructions and only for the purposes set out in our agreement with them. We do not use a client's subscriber list for our own marketing, and we do not move it to another client's account.
How we use information
- To respond to inquiries and schedule calls
- To provide, operate, and improve our services
- To build, send, and measure email campaigns and automated flows for our clients
- To segment a client's list and personalize the emails sent from the client's account
- To monitor and improve deliverability, including list hygiene and sending volume
- To send service communications, updates, and reporting
- To secure our systems and prevent fraud or abuse
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers. Website hosting, scheduling, customer relationship management, email delivery, analytics, and advertising platforms that process data on our behalf.
- Email platform sub-processors. Work we do for a client runs in that client's email platform, such as Klaviyo, and connects to the client's store and other tools the client has authorized. Those platforms process subscriber data under their own agreements with the client.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RYO, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Some advertising and analytics practices described here may be treated as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under certain state privacy laws. See Your privacy rights below for how to opt out.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, measure traffic, and understand which campaigns bring people to us. Some of these are set by third-party advertising and analytics providers.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you refuse or delete them. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. Many browsers also send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide our services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it. Subscriber information we process on behalf of a client lives in that client's own email platform and is retained according to our agreement with that client and the client's own settings.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections and access controls on the systems and client accounts we work in. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request a copy of it, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, opt out of targeted advertising or the sharing of your information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws have comparable rights. To make a request, email us at hello@ryo.agency. We will verify your request before acting on it, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
If you received an email from one of our clients, that client controls the list and decides how the information is used. We may direct your request to that client, and we will help the client act on it. Every marketing email we help send carries an unsubscribe link you can use at any time.
Email and text messages
If you give us your contact details, we may contact you about your inquiry or our services. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message, and you can stop text messages by replying STOP. We may still send you messages necessary to provide a service you requested.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party websites
Our site may link to websites we do not operate, including our clients' stores, email platforms, and third-party scheduling tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
